SCMF Programing
2014 was the initial year of hands-on urban gardening based learning at Summer Camp Music Festival. Since its inception, over a dozen installations (practical garden aids such as cold frames, compost units, container gardens, etc.) have been donated to organizations supporting local food advocacy as a direct result of the festivals’ education program. The first three years of programing carried the name The Permaculture Corner with the introduction of a permanent site, SOULPATCH, developed in 2016 as a long-term educational garden. 2020 marks the 5th year of SOULPATCH programing at Summer Camp Music Festival and Phase 3 of the project - shifting into a year round continued learning space for the community and surrounding region. SOULPATCH has seven major assets that demonstrate natural building or alternative growing techniques, providing both a base curriculum and places to gather.
